Beard Oil
Beard oil is a highly effective tool when formulated and used properly. We handled the formula for you, and here we will give you the guidelines to make the most of it.
How much beard Oil: Most guys think they need a puddle of beard oil to see results, leaving their beard greasy and their bottles empty. For most beard lengths 5 to 10 drops of oil is all you need to leave your beard looking and feeling great. Summit beard oil is formulated with high quality carrier oils that absorb into the hair to strengthen and hydrate, rather than sitting on top and blocking out nutrients. Your beard should never look or feel greasy after applying oil.
Application: Always apply beard oil to a slightly damp beard. You can wash prior to applying beard oil or just splash some water in your beard and lightly towel dry. Next put 5-10 drops of oil in your palm and work through both hands. Then work through your beard making sure to reach the skin underneath. The oil should quickly absorb leaving your beard non-greasy to the touch. Finally brush through your beard with a board bristle brush or a wooden beard comb. If you have trouble with fly-aways or curls we recommend brushing through your beard while applying low to medium heat from a blow dryer. Avoid high heat as it will dry out the hair and skin and cause breakage.
Wash
Using a proper beard wash is crucial to having a healthy, and good looking beard. Most shampoos are loaded with sulfates that strip the hair and skin of their natural oils leaving you looking dry and scraggly. Our wash uses xanthan gum to create a rich lather while leaving your beard hydrated and healthy. Following our guide will ensure you get the most out of Summit Grooming Wash.
Wash Frequency: Over-washing your beard can, at times, cause dryness that even beard oil cannot overcome. This is why we recommend against washing everyday. The ideal frequency is once every three days. Washing twice, back to back, as described below.
Application: Rinse beard with warm water, never hot, as you don't want to dry the hair and skin out. Next add one pump of wash to your palms and work through your beard making sure to reach the skin underneath. If you follow our recommendations on wash frequency you will notice that you don't get much lather. Rinse the wash out of your beard and apply another pump just as you did previously. On the second wash you will achieve a rich, deep cleaning lather. Rinse the Wash out again and you are all set. Add beard oil to your damp beard and style as needed.
Beard Balm
Beard Balm is your go-to for shaping your beard and taming fly-aways. It works best on a clean, dry beard. We recommend applying Summit Grooming Beard Oil, followed by balm. Start by scraping a pea sized amount for short to medium length beards; use a little more for longer or thicker beards. You can always add more, but too much can leave your beard looking greasy. Rub the balm thoroughly through your palms until it melts into a smooth even layer. Next massage the balm through your beard avoiding working it into the skin. For best results though it should be worked through the entire beard, not just the surface hairs. Finish with a comb for a cleaner, more controlled look, or use a brush to add fullness while distributing the balm evenly.
